Thin and rather underweight from corrosion yet with clear pillars and bold full shield (both with full crown above), lightly toned all over. Plate Coin #VII.1-A.aa (6) 2 on page 161 of Mastalir's book The Great Transition at the Potosi Mint 1649-1653: The 1652 Transitional 8 Reales (2015), and pedigreed to our Auction 20, with original lot-tag #1783, with original Herman Moro certificate. Recovered from: Capitana, sunk in 1654 off chanduy, Ecuador.
